Weatherization

You May Qualify for Free Weatherization for Your Home!
Weatherization is the process of making your home more “air tight” and energy efficient. Weatherization not only makes you and your family more comfortable, it saves you money!
How Weatherization Benefits You
- Your utility bills will be lower because you’re not losing heated or cooled air.
- Your home will be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Free Weatherization is Available if You Qualify!
The IMACA Home Weatherization Program provides energy related services to low income home owners and renters in Inyo and Mono Counties. If you meet mandated income guidelines, eligible residents may have their homes insulated, receive carbon monoxide alarms, repair or replace unsafe appliances, cold air infiltration measures such as caulking, weather-stripping of leaky doors and repairing windows and other minor repairs or improvements necessary for energy efficiency.
In addition to the same weatherization services, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), when funding is available, may provide roof, furnace or water heater repairs and replacements.
Who Needs Weatherization?
Take the quiz and find out…
- In the winter do you feel cold “breezes” coming from windows and doors, even when they’re closed?
- Do you run the heater all day just to stay warm?
- In the summer is the air conditioner always on?
- Are your heating and cooling bills too expensive?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, your house may need Weatherization.
