Food & Garden Assistance
Volunteers distribute monthly USDA Commodities in 13 communities throughout Inyo and Mono Counties. IMACA distributes USDA commodity meats, vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy products to low income residents of Inyo and Mono counties.

We also operate food pantries in Bishop, Lone Pine, and Mammoth Lakes.
IMACA’s food pantry is available to anyone in need. Pantry food comes from donations received throughout both Inyo and Mono Counties.

Mono County Mobile Food Pantry
In October, IMACA began working with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to bring a Mobile Food Pantry to Mono County. The Mobile Food Pantry distributes food the last week of every month at multiple sites in Mono County.

Garden Assistance
IMACA supports gardening as a means for low income residents to move toward food self sufficiency.
Backyard Gardeners
IMACA provides seeds, soil and training to support backyard gardeners.
Community Gardens
Together with many community organizations and volunteers, IMACA participates in and supports community gardens in Bishop, Darwin, Independence and several gardens in Lone Pine. Produce from these gardens is distributed to low income and mobility-challenged people in our communities through the IMACA food pantries and with USDA Commodities.
IMACA’s garden plot in Bishop and the Lone Pine Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) garden serve as training grounds for low income gardeners.
Nutrition Education
IMACA provides recipes, cooking and gardening training to parents of preschool children in order to improve early nutrition.
